The course offered by PNNM Ayurveda Medical College is BAMS
(Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) also titled as
AYURVEDACHARYA. It is a degree course recognized by Central
Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi, the authorized monitoring
agency for education in Indian systems of medicine.
The college is affiliated to Calicut University, Calicut.
The University conducts examinations and awards degree on
satisfactory completion of the course.
The college allotted 50 seats for admission in BAMS course.
According to present policy of the Government, 25 of the allotted
seats can be filled by the management and remaining 25 is
to be filled by the State Government Entrance Examination
Rank list.(15% seats will be NRI quota.). Classes for first
batch started on 01-11-2007.
Apart from prescribed curriculum of Ayurveda syllabus, this
college also provides classes for ancient sciences like Vasthu,
Jyothisham, Tantric etc., by well qualified and eminent scholars.
Now, with efficient faculty, the PNNM Ayurveda Medical College
is developing as one of the best Ayurveda Colleges in India,
by the extreme effort and guidance from the management.
The course is of a period of 4.5 years plus internship training
for 1 year in the Collegiate Hospital and some outside Hospital
to have enough clinical explosure.

The course shall be
imparted through theoretical and practical instruction in
the pre clinical and clinical branches of Ayurveda. Sanskrit
is the language in which most of the classical works of ayurveda
were written. Therefore, working knowledge in Sanskrit is
essential for easy understanding of ayurveda. So, as envisaged
in the syllabus, there shall be instruction in Sanskrit in
the first professional course followed by an examination at
the end. The first half of the course is devoted for the preclinical
study such as Sareera, Dravyagunavijnana etc. The clinical
study involves the application of the theories in practice
which includes hospital training.

Degree is to be awarded by the University only on production
of certificates of having successful completion of periodical
examinations and compulsory internship for one year. Medium
of instruction is Malayalam / English.
There are separate hostels for boys & girls.
